“Again there are widespread calls for gender equality in government. Around Australia organisations are paving the pathways for women to get elected.”

Australia ranks 48th in the world for parliamentary gender diversity. Only 36% of Australian members of parliament are women, despite women making up 51% of the population.

Journalist and Pathways to Politics alum Sally Dillon writes for The Guardian Australia about the organisations across Australia that are working to create a critical mass of women and change the face of politics. Interviews include Pathways to Politics founding philanthropist Carol Schwartz AO and Pathways alum Ruth McGowan OAM and Juliana Addison MP, Victorian Member for Wendouree.
