In memory of Dr Katie Allen (1966-2025)
The Dr Katie Allen Memorial Fund is designed to support Pathways to Politics for Women graduates to accelerate their journeys into political life – in recognition of Katie’s own journey into politics, which followed a distinguished career as a doctor and medical researcher.
After completing the Pathways to Politics University of Melbourne program in 2017, Katie went on to become Pathways to Politics’ first alum elected to Federal Parliament, serving as the Federal Member for Higgins from 2019 to 2022.
Katie was deeply committed to giving back, serving on the Pathways to Politics Advisory Committee for many years. She offered thoughtful, strategic and practical advice that helped strengthen and shape the program for women from all backgrounds. She was a mentor to many Pathways to Politics alums and was a tireless contributor to workshops, panels and events empowering women to run for elected office.

Pathways to Politics for Women now has a critical mass of over 750 alums from all Australian states and territories. This alum community is growing rapidly and reflects the diversity of communities across Australia. This Fund will ensure that Katie’s generosity, leadership and belief in women lives on.
