Free access to Social Protect for Pathways to Politics alums

Free access to Social Protect is available for all Pathways to Politics alums and program participants nationally, thanks to the Women’s Leadership Institute Australia.

Social Protect is a powerful new app designed to detect and remove abusive content on your social platforms in real time. It offers practical, effective support so you can focus on what really matters – leading change and representing your communities.

What is Social Protect?

Founded in Australia, Social Protect is a purpose-built app that uses AI to detect and delete abusive comments across your social media accounts – including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube and Discord. It works in real time, filtering out harmful content in over 100 languages.

How to access Social Protect

  1. Download the app.
  2. Enter the special Pathways to Politics Access Code provided to you via email. Contact the Pathways to Politics team if you no longer have the code.

As part of our agreement with Social Protect, you are also able to share this code with members of your immediate family if you wish to. Unfortunately, we know that online abuse doesn’t just affect women in public life but can extend to ones closest to them as well. Please share thoughtfully with this understanding of why access is being provided.
  3. Connect your social media accounts.

“Social Protect has allowed me to take back control and feel safe while communicating about my work across social media platforms…Sexism and misogyny shouldn’t just be part of the job for women in politics – and Social Protect has played a huge part in ensuring that doesn’t become my reality.”

– Georgie Purcell MP, Member for Northern Victoria and Pathways to Politics alum
