In this special ‘in conversation’ recording (originally a Pathways to Politics alums event) Carol Schwartz AO, Chair of the Women’s Leadership Institute Australia, speaks to former Labor MP Kate Ellis.

Before retiring from Parliament in 2019, Kate’s portfolios included Minister for Youth, Minister for Sport, Minister for the Status of Women, and Minister for Early Childhood Education.

Kate discusses her varied career in politics and her book, Sex, Lies and Question Time, which paints a picture of her own experiences in Parliament and as well as those of her female colleagues from all sides of politics and the often toxic culture they endured.
